Olympics has finally finished and what a fantastic event for Britain it was, coming 3rd in the medals table behind the USA and China. We at Brynglas Cottages are very proud of our British athletes and must admit have been glued to the television over the last couple of weeks. I thought I couldn't really produce a blog this month without a mention of the Olympics and our country's success.

Now that the Olympics is over tourism in the UK can get back to a bit of normality and people are looking to take their holidays and maybe thinking mid Wales as a destination of choice. With sport pretty much on the forefront of peoples minds then an outdoor activity holiday may be for you and mid Wales a destination you should seriously consider, particularly as we have so much to offer locally in the form of outdoor sports that we've done so well with internationally. For example, if you like kayaking or canoing then there is much choice with the River Severn and Lake Vyrnwy just a stone throw away, running with the wide variety of roads and paths for you to explore, cycling as we have some of the most scenic routes you will find in the UK.

Whilst the Olympics has been going on, we've had a few internationals ourselves in Mid Wales with the British Open, European and World DTL shooting competition at Trefeglwys shooting school. This is a very popular event attracting visitors from all around the world. One of the biggest challenges for competing teams is finding good suitable accommodation that is of a high standard. Well, if that's what your looking for then please contact us, we believe we have just what you need.

If you want to find out more or want to look at what other outdoor activities that are available nearby to our cottages, then visit the visitmidwales.co.uk website where there is a range of outdoor activities and adventure listed.
