Welcome to June's edition of our blog. Well, we're half way through the year already so for this edition of our blog we thought we would discuss all the wonderful things that is going on throughout the summer in Mid Wales. So far we haven't had our great deal of sunshine, but regardless of the wind / rain this blog should give you an idea of some of the things you can do to make your holiday all that more special.

Whatever your favourite pastime there is lots to do in Mid Wales and we're sure you will find an activity to enjoy, if you either coming here to stay on your own or as a family.

Firstly, if shooting is your thing then there is the World shooting competition at Mid Wales Shooting Centre which is situated in 300 acres of land surrounded by some naturally beautiful countryside and it is ideally located, just forty minutes drive from Brynglas Cottages. The Mid Wales Shooting Centre caters for the novice to the expert shooter, providing a vast range of shooting facilities which includes 16 Trap Layouts, 4 Skeet layouts and 18 Sporting Stands. To view their numerous events throughout the year then check out their events page on their website @ http://www.midwalesshootingcentre.com/events.html.

If shooting is not your thing then maybe the Royal Welsh Show may interest you on the 23-26th July. Although we are an hour and half drive from the Royal Welsh Showground, the popularity of the show means that finding accommodation near to the show has proven to be difficult. Have a look at the showground website to check out what other events they have to offer throughout the year and feel free to contact us regarding our availability during these peak times http://www.rwas.co.uk/en/society

If you like music then there is the 2012 Gregynog Festival which is Venezia, featuring some of the world's greatest exponents of the music of Venice. Festival events will take place at various locations - Gregynog Hall, Kerry, Montgomery and at the National Museum in Cardiff from Fri 15 Jun - Sun 1 Jul 2012.

Whatever the recreation of choice, i'm sure Mid Wales has something for you, and if you need help in your research then take a look at the Visit Mid Wales website which contains a list of events for Mid Wales & Powys, and its attractions, and don't forget if your looking for somewhere to stay then check out our availability by contacting us

If there is an event that you feel should be mentioned in this list then please feel free to

A holiday can be made more memorable if we enjoy every day of it, specially summer holidays are the time to improve holiday experience.
